Some 7th and 8th grade students from Lexington Montessori School of Boston came to our school to visit for two days. They wanted to know about our culture and about our school first hand.
Fourteen students and three teachers came to Barcelona for five days, two of which they decided to spend in our school. They told us they would visit the most important landmarks in the city, like Parc Güell and Sagrada Família. Actually, they were staying in a couple of apartments close to this great temple by Gaudí.
During the two days in our school the Boston students and our first and second ESO students shared every second of their school time. They could enjoy the classes the exact way our students do, thus they could practice their Spanish and learn a bit of Catalan too! Only in our classes of English both our students and the ones from Lexington Montessori did something different, like asking about their life back in Boston, or presenting the most interesting Catalan and Spanish traditions and customs for our visitors. The last day the American students carried out a survey among the teachers and students of our school about different current issues in our country showing a good knowledge of the present social and political situation of our country.
All in all it was a great experience that our student won’t easily forget. Besides, most of them made such good friends that they even exchanged their phone numbers to keep in touch, and who knows, maybe they can find another chance to meet in the future!
