A singular opportunity, two times its worth
The American High School Diploma opens a new door to the future for our students thanks to the double qualification. Those participating in this programme will receive the same qualification as students in the United States when finishing high school, recognised in all the states and all universities around the world.
This official programme has been developed by Academica, an institution of recognised prestige and the largest in the United States with regard to educational management, which the school’s management team were able to confirm during a visit to their headquarters in Miami. There they had meetings with the company’s managers and visited some of the top performing colleges in order to obtain full assurances.
This is an international programme that is carried out in parallel to other countries, such as China, Russia, Korea, France, but the initial seed was planted in Florida, one of the leading states in educational innovation in the United States.
This programme begins in ESO Year 3, four years before university, so that students only have one or two subjects per academic year. This way they will be able to combine their studies in a more fluid manner, given that it is all planned to be fully compatible and can also be started at a later date.
Apart from the results and the double qualification, the student will be fully immersed linguistically and their level of English will improve exponentially to the point at this will no longer be an impediment their future development.
An online, technological environment in English
We find it interesting that thanks to this programme and the online platform students learn to develop themselves skilfully and autonomously in a digital and technological environment.
To obtain the American qualification students only need to study six subjects, which thanks to international treaties and the educational excellence of the programme permit the maximum recognition possible: 75% of the 24 credits necessary to obtain the American High School Diploma. Of these, four subjects are obligatory due to the curriculum and the other two can be chosen by the students from an attractive variety of options, ranging from television production to criminology and a specific course for passing the US university access tests.
Joining the dual diploma programme does not interfere with the school’s batxillerat studies, given that it is designed to be fully feasible and compatible.
Two teachers at our school are responsible for the coordination and supervision of the entire programme, and the progress of each participating student. Academica has developed its own online platform and chat, coaching and mentoring system with North American teachers.
These students can contact them via Skype, during the office hours allocated each week. These exchanges are performed individually, and in addition to those that are obligatory, voluntary sessions can be carried out to improve the score, given that this programme is also designed to encourage the “redo”, the self-imposed standards of excellence, and the desire to improve.
